Couldn’t submit survey – no “submit” button to click on. anyone know where it is? So leaving my comments here. Even when I want only cold water from the tap, I almost always turn on the hot water handle instead of the cold because the hot is on the left. I waste a lot of hot water heater energy.
A lot of arts and crafts are difficult. I tried to learn calligraphy. And dragged my left hand through the not-yet-dry ink. I gave up on it. Also gave up on knitting and crocheting. My right-handed sister tried to teach me. It was so frustrating that we called it quits and had a glass of wine instead.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what hand I am… My mom says I’m right but my dad says I’m left. I throw a baseball with my left hand, I swing a bat with my left hand, I shoot in hockey with my left hand, kick a ball with my left hand. On the other hand I eat with my right, brush my teeth with my right, and do everything around the house with my right hand.
My dad said ” that you do stud often with your right because things in this world are made for right handed people” for example your zipper on your pants is located on the right side. So, can someone please tell me what hand am I? Thanks 🙂

I was unable to submit survey. .. no submit button. Maternal and paternal grandparents. . Mother. . Father. . Brother. . Five children. .spouse.. and five of seven grandchildren are all right handed. My left eye and left foot are dominant and the only thing I do righthanded is hold a baseball bat or a golf club. I catch and throw a ball lefty. . I’m a true left handed beautician cutting and combing always left handed. I bowl lefty and have been told lefts have an advantage because the left side of the alley is less used and therefore less ..I have played the piano over 50 years starting lessons at age 5. Left always seemed so natural to me I guess I just really adapted. . Shoe tying, knitting and sewing, writing in notebook and writing across whati wrote were the most problematic. Writing with my right hand and polishing the nails on my left hand take some effort but I can do it after much practice but it never looks as good as when I use my left hand. My penmanship with my left hand looks like that ofa right handed person but a little more ornate. I hold my paper as a right Hander would.I think people who master the art of being lefthanded excel in their endeavors!

I am Left-handed in writing, throwing and golfing yet my right hand and arm are physically much stronger than my left. No explanation as to why. I had a revelation a few years back when I discovered that weed-whackers are right had tools. The cutting head rotates to the right and throws the grass directly at the left handed users. Lefties get their feet beat-up and their right leg and shoe turn green with grass stains. When I tried to use the weed-whacker in my right hand it was so uncomfortable that I dug deep and found away to appreciate green sneakers. Be aware of the hazards of right hand tools!

  5. Janet Nazer says:

I had a parent tell me one time that there were certain things I couldn’t do because I was left handed; such as nailing stuff. I was only inexperienced (still am).

  6. Cindy says:

I am ambidextrous i use most hand tools with my right hand. Playing sports , Softball – throw lefthand – bat right, Soccer I am right footed !

    • Doug says:

Cindy, you are not ambidextrous. You are mix-handed. Ambidextrous means that you are equally skilled with both hands. For example, you could write legibly with both your left and your right hand (same level of quality for both).

  7. Bob says:

Happy Birthday to me – a lefty – on Left Hander’s Day

  8. carol says:

I am unable to complete the survey as there is no complete button to press, but I have one left handed child and six children. Of my 26 cousins and I, there are 3 of us who are left handed. I have 3 of my first 9 grandchildren who are left handed. The others are too young to know. Some are very left handed but others are more ambidextrous.

I was lucky growing up to have a pediatrician who told my mother that being left handed was normal and I should be allowed to develop the way I was born.

I learned to knit and do other things by facing my mother and imitating her.
